Wayne Sternberger, PH.D.Technical Advisor
Dr. Wayne I. Sternberger is a member of the Principal Professional Staff of The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL) and has a joint appointment as a Research Associate in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. He joined the JHU/APL in 1979 after completing degrees at The University of Michigan (BS, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences) and The University of Rhode Island (MS and PhD, Ocean Engineering). And, he was a Sabbatical Research Fellow in ACCM in the mid-1990’s. Wayne specializes in leading multi-disciplinary teams in systems engineering tasks to conceptualize, design, and prototype system-of-system solutions for maritime and biomedical sensing needs. Concurrent with his primary roles in innovation, research, and development, Wayne dedicates his time to mentoring high school and college students in STEM topics.
